THE PEACOCK ROOM

The Peacock Room Venue. As several prides of peacocks roam around The Garden Venue’s gardens, we have always wanted to name a wedding room after these glamorous birds with their captivating, iridescent blue and green tail feathers. In 2020 we were proud to open up our latest wedding venue, The Peacock Room, in honour of these regal birds that have made our hotel their home. The venue is defined by 3 distinct spaces – The Peacock Room, The Lawn Terrace Chapel, and The Weir Cascade, all of which flow together seamlessly to create a unified experience.

The Peacock Venue is our smallest venue, accommodating more intimate weddings while seating 20 to 50 guests banquet style. This unique wedding venue enjoys a modern contemporary architecture, which stands in distinct contrast to the dominant traditional thatch features that typify The Garden Venue Boutique Hotel. The Peacock Venue’s interior is both light and airy with a neutral colour palette which allows for the function space to be transformed and personalised effortlessly in line with your own desired wedding decor expectations.

This room is the absolute perfect wedding venue, adorned with a mosaic buffet serving station and a drinks serving station. As with all aspects at The Garden Venue Boutique Hotel, it‘s all about the gardens and as such, large tall windows frame the magnificent views over The Lawn Terrace. Welcome drinks and canapés are typically served at the entrance at The Weir Cascade flowing with a drumming welcome.

In the centre of The Lawn Terrace grows a majestic Acacia Sieberiana. It‘s at this robust African tree that you will find our Lawn Terrace Chapel, shared with our Olive Tree Hide, both of which are ideal for intimate wedding ceremonies. It‘s an outdoor chapel with sandstone tiles underfoot and planter boxes filled with formal lollipops and iceberg roses – dramatic indeed! Pot cascades then frame the left and right of the stage and the branch canopy of the Acacia Tree forms the ceiling, making the experience truly one-of-a-kind.

The Peacock Room makes for a great birthday party venue but also extends perfectly to corporate events including conferences, board meetings, training seminars and year end functions, while team building events spill out onto The Lawn Terrace.
