THE OLIVE TREE HIDE

The Olive Tree Hide is a thatch hall in an enviable position nestled right beneath a grand old indigenous olive tree growing out from rock boulders that have been there since time began. Typical of a hide in the bush, this wedding venue is private and tucked away, blending seamlessly with its surroundings.

A meandering pathway leads through the trees to a rock cascade and a raised wooden deck. It’s a magical and intimate venue situated at the far end of The Lawn Terrace which can cater for up to 80 guests, banquet style.

In 2020 our Olive Tree Hide was refurbished and enlarged to include a separate bar lounge area and impressive serving station to compliment this now glamorous, newly upgraded wedding venue. Marble flooring, a wooden deck, and modern finishes also add to its elegant design. 

Rolling lawns & immaculately landscaped gardens define this beautiful garden space and at the right time of the year our Jacaranda tree in the middle of The Lawn Terrace scatters an innumerable amount of glorious blue-purple flowers. The entire hall is surrounded by an abundance of gorgeous plants and fragrant flowers. – what better way to escape and celebrate your wedding day?

Giant glass windows compel a captivating view into the rich green foliage below the olive tree canopy, while the hippo rock cascade lulls the senses with gently flowing streams. Welcome drinks and canapés can be served adjacent to the Pot Cascade at the entrance to this captivating venue.

Although the Olive Tree Hide sits at the far end of The Lawn Terrace, along the way you will find a majestic Acacia Tree. It’s at this robust African tree that we have chosen to build our Lawn Terrace Chapel, shared with our Peacock Venue, both of which are ideal for intimate wedding ceremonies. It‘s an outdoor chapel with sandstone tiles underfoot and planter boxes filled with formal lollipops and iceberg roses – dramatic indeed! Pot cascades then frame the left and right of the stage and the branch canopy of the Acacia Tree forms the ceiling, making the experience truly one-of-a-kind.
